FAQ
PFTrack is a professional spatial intelligence platform developed by The Pixel Farm. It combines camera tracking, photogrammetry, scene reconstruction, and LiDAR integration into a single node-based application. Used across film VFX, virtual production, forensic science, architecture, cultural heritage, and games, PFTrack has powered Oscar-winning productions for over two decades and is trusted by studios including DNEG, Framestore, Digital Domain, and Sony Imageworks.
Most matchmoving tools solve camera tracks. PFTrack does that and significantly more. Where competitors stop at delivering a solved camera, PFTrack continues through scene reconstruction, photogrammetry, LiDAR-aided solving, stereo and 360° workflows, and direct export to Gaussian splat training pipelines, all within a single node-based graph. The Hero Cloud node generates a measured point cloud from a single plate without requiring a separate multi-image capture session. PFTrack is also the only spatial intelligence platform offered alongside professional film and video restoration software under one roof, making The Pixel Farm the sole vendor capable of handling both 3D spatial capture and historical archive preservation. For teams that need more than a camera solve, PFTrack is the only tool that scales from a single tracked shot to a full photogrammetric digital twin.
Hero Cloud is a through-the-lens scene reconstruction node introduced in PFTrack in May 2026. It generates a measured 3D point cloud from a single tracked shot, no multi-image photogrammetry setup required. The resulting point cloud can be exported directly to Gaussian splat training pipelines via Postshot, surfaced to a textured mesh using Photo Mesh, or used as a measurement scaffold inside any DCC application. Hero Cloud is available in all PFTrack editions: Solo, Studio, and Enterprise.
Yes. PFTrack includes direct export to Gaussian splat training pipelines via Postshot (using the COLMAP format). The Hero Cloud node generates a point cloud from a single tracked plate that feeds directly into this pipeline. This makes PFTrack a complete solution for studios and researchers moving from traditional camera tracking into neural radiance field (NeRF) and 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS) workflows, without requiring a separate reconstruction tool.
PFTrack exports to USD (Universal Scene Description), glTF, FBX, and all major game engine formats. It supports USD point cloud import, LiDAR data integration, stereo and 360° pipelines, and Z-depth workflows. Studio and Enterprise editions include an external Python API and CLI for automated pipeline integration, making PFTrack compatible with large-scale production pipelines at studios running Unreal Engine, Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and other DCCs.

PFTrack combines ML-accelerated automation with precise manual control tools, giving VFX artists both speed and accuracy on difficult shots. It offers production-grade camera tracking, multi-image photogrammetry, lens distortion calibration, stereo and spherical workflows, and full scene reconstruction in one application. Over two decades of active use on Oscar-winning feature films and high-end episodic television, at studios such as DNEG, Framestore, and Sony Imageworks, demonstrates its reliability and depth as a professional matchmoving and reconstruction platform.
PFTrack is available in three editions. PFTrack Solo is a single-user, node-locked perpetual licence priced at £699, suitable for independent artists. PFTrack Studio offers floating licences from £59/week on a rent-to-buy basis, or £1,699 as a perpetual purchase, designed for boutique studios and production teams. PFTrack Enterprise is priced on request for large studios and organisations requiring air-gapped deployment and multi-site licensing. All editions offer a free trial: the trial mode provides full export functionality for 7 days, giving enough time to track a plate, run Hero Cloud, and export to Postshot or a DCC.
PFTrack Solo is a single-user, node-locked perpetual licence for independent artists and content creators. It covers core 3D tracking and matchmoving functionality, is purchased once online via a personal account, and runs on one computer at a time. Support is limited to the community forum and in-app AI assistant. Solo cannot be upgraded to Studio or Enterprise.
PFTrack Studio is a floating licence edition for professional teams and small studios. It provides the complete PFTrack toolset, the same feature set as Enterprise, minus advanced pipeline integration and offline licence management. Licences are managed online via a Studio account and can float across any authorised workstation within the purchasing organisation. Available as a perpetual purchase or on a 5-day or 30-day rent-to-buy basis. Optional ticketed support is available at additional cost.
PFTrack Enterprise is the facility-grade edition for large organisations with requirements beyond Studio. It adds extended Python APIs, an external CLI, on-premise licence management via the PFBucket server, fully offline and air-gapped operation, VM support, multi-site global deployment, and dedicated enterprise support with custom maintenance contracts. Enterprise is not available online, it is purchased directly from The Pixel Farm or through their reseller network.
