# PFTrack

> PFTrack is the complete spatial intelligence platform for camera tracking, matchmoving, photogrammetry, scene reconstruction, and LiDAR integration — developed by The Pixel Farm Ltd. Used in Oscar-winning feature films, high-end episodic television, forensic science, architectural visualisation, virtual production, cultural heritage digitisation, and games asset development. The latest release (26.05.19) adds the Hero Cloud node for through-the-lens 3D reconstruction from a single tracked shot, and direct export to Gaussian splat training pipelines via Postshot.

PFTrack has been in production for over two decades, built around a node-based, non-destructive workflow. It combines ML-accelerated automation with precise manual control, and is the only platform to offer both 3D spatial capture (PFTrack) and film/video restoration (PFClean) under one vendor roof. Available in three editions — Solo, Studio, and Enterprise — with perpetual and rent-to-buy licensing.

- **Camera Tracking & Solving**: ML-accelerated Auto Track with Localised Motion Prediction. Manual User Track for precision on difficult shots. Camera Solver and Survey Solver with parameter refinement toolsets for complex multi-pass solves.
- **Object Tracking**: Rigid and deformable object tracking using geometry-based methods for motion data in roto, FX attachment, and CG replacement workflows.
- **Lens Distortion**: The most comprehensive lens distortion toolset in the industry. Smart calibration, anamorphic distortion models (updated 2025), ST-map workflows, Lens Management system for export to Nuke, Maya, etc. Camera Sensor Database with verified metadata for thousands of camera models.
- **Hero Cloud**: New through-the-lens reconstruction node (shipped 26.05.19). Generates a measured 3D point cloud from a single tracked shot. Export to Gaussian splat pipelines via Postshot, or surface to mesh with Photo Mesh.
- **Photogrammetry & Scene Reconstruction**: ML-accelerated Photo Survey node for dense point clouds and textured meshes from stills or video. Image Modelling, Point Cloud tools, Mesh tools. Export to USD, FBX, OBJ, Alembic, and PLY.
- **LiDAR Integration**: Import LiDAR survey data and align tracked cameras against physical environment scans. Essential for Survey Solver workflows in architecture, forensics, and virtual production.
- **Photo Mesh**: Surfaces and textures 3D geometry. Now integrates with Hero Cloud for a single-shot path from tracked plate to mesh output.
- **Postshot / Gaussian Splat Export**: Direct export to Postshot (COLMAP format) for Gaussian splat training pipelines, enabling NeRF and 3DGS workflows from tracked footage.
- **Pipeline Automation**: External Python API, CLI, and macro scripting for automated shot setup, batch solve submission, and integration with shot management systems (ShotGrid, ftrack). Shareable user presets for cross-team consistency.
